　　一、背景敘述部分

　　這一部分可以采用三種方法提出一般性的主題：

　　1.關(guān)于研究主題的歷史背景敘述

　　歷史背景既可以是長(zhǎng)久以來形成的觀點(diǎn)，也可以是某項(xiàng)技術(shù)應(yīng)用實(shí)際的時(shí)間。

　　例：The role of bacteria as anticancer agent was recognized almost hundred years back.

　　2.關(guān)于研究主題的一個(gè)事實(shí)

　　具體事實(shí)可以是研究問題中某一對(duì)象出現(xiàn)的原因，出現(xiàn)的目的等等。

　　例：Assignment essays are developed from set questions that give students a period of time to research a topic and produce their answer with references to their sources of information.

　　3.一個(gè)關(guān)于研究主題的問題

　　問題永遠(yuǎn)是最吸引人的，它給讀者留下了一個(gè)懸念。不過問題式的開頭也是最難的，大家酌情參考即可。

　　例：Given all of the freedoms that were denied enslaved individuals in the American South, why does Frederick Douglass focus his attentions so squarely on education and literacy？

　　二、連接背景與主題部分

　　在引出背景以后，引入主題方法同樣不少：

　　1.敘述關(guān)于背景的某一項(xiàng)爭(zhēng)論

　　通過敘述爭(zhēng)論，我們?cè)诤竺嫣岢鲎约旱挠^點(diǎn)，無論是支持還是反對(duì)某一方，都能把問題具體化。

　　例：While there are some disadvantages with using assignment essays as assessment tool, there are sound educational purposes underpinning this practice.

　　2.敘述背景中某個(gè)對(duì)象的優(yōu)點(diǎn)

　　敘述優(yōu)點(diǎn)，從而引申為何這些優(yōu)點(diǎn)存在，把問題具體到某個(gè)研究對(duì)象，也能成功縮小范圍。

　　例：Computers, the Internet, and advanced electronic devices are becoming essential in everyday life and have changed the way information is gathered.

　　三、敘述論文內(nèi)容部分

　　這個(gè)部分是整個(gè)Introduction中相對(duì)簡(jiǎn)單的一個(gè)部分，只需要介紹論文的主要內(nèi)容，包括論文論點(diǎn)和結(jié)構(gòu)，只要大家對(duì)自己的論點(diǎn)足夠清晰，把握住文章的結(jié)構(gòu)，基本沒有問題的。

　　例：This essay examines the reasons why assignment essays are beneficial for student learning and considers some of the problems with this method of assessment.
